Welcome

A hearty welcome to the Castlebar Toastmasters’ website.   My name is Donna Hyland and I am the Castlebar Toastmasters’ Club President for 2017/2018 year.  It is my great pleasure to welcome you.

You have made a decision to develop your public speaking and leadership skills.  I congratulate you on  making that decision.   When you attend a club meeting you will be warmly welcomed, you will gain insight into the many benefits of Toastmasters and you will then be in a position to decide if Toastmasters is for you.

If you are interested in joining Toastmasters I encourage you to speak to our club’s VP Membership.  Once you become a member, our VP Education will discuss your specific objectives.  The best way to get started is to sign up to a meeting role and prepare your icebreaker.  You will have experienced Toastmasters to encourage, empower and mentor you on each step of your journey.

The most valuable lesson I have learned from being a Toastmaster is that great leadership is about helping others to become great leaders.  I look forward to meeting you in person at one of our meetings.

About Us

Castlebar Club

Castlebar Toastmasters was founded in 2016. Its Club Mission is to provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth.

Castlebar Toastmasters is a Member of Toastmasters International

Toastmasters International

Toastmasters International is a world leader in communication and leadership development. Our organization has more than 352,000 memberships. Members improve their speaking and leadership skills by attending one of the 16,400 clubs in 141 countries that make up our global network of meeting locations.

The world needs leaders. Leaders head families, coach teams, run businesses and mentor others. These leaders must not only accomplish, they must communicate. By regularly giving speeches, gaining feedback, leading teams and guiding others to achieve their goals in a supportive atmosphere, leaders emerge from the Toastmasters program. Every Toastmasters journey begins with a single speech. During their journey, they learn to tell their stories. They listen and answer. They plan and lead. They give feedback—and accept it. Through our community of learners, they find their path to leadership.
